Vibrant animal drawing from your favorite photo. I draw these lifelike portraits with high-quality lightfast pastel crayons on toned velour paper. With these colors it is possilbe to show the colors of fur, eyes and even the fine shimmer on black and white fur. The texture of the fur, curls, wire hair, short shiny coat or shaggy mane become tangible.

The most emotional feedback from my customers is for colored pastel portraits. A common statement of many of them is: "Oh my, you captured the soul!".

I create these drawings with charcoal and white pastels on blue-grey velour paper.  Black-and-white has a classy retro effect and combines really well with photographs on your wall.

An oil painting is your choice if you want a prestigious picture of your pet. I personally love this technique for its infinite possibilities to draw a relaistic picture of the model including all the textures and beautiful details. It has a touch of "eternity" which many customers prefer for their dearest family members.

Painting with oils takes time and a good level of mastery of the technique. This means that you will need a little patience to attend your finshed painting. My paintings will be covered by finishing layer of varnish to protect the colors in time and to deepen the effect of tones and contrasts in the picture. The colors have to dry out completey before varnishing, which takes at least 3 months.  

Depending on the size, the painting might be shipped as rolled canvas and you let the mounting be done by your framer. But most sizes can be shipped already  mounted on the wooden frame (the "strecher") and you can hang it right away or frame it how ever you like.
